Senior Buyer – Procurement Reigate, Surrey (office-based, WFH Fridays after probation)

Full-time, Monday–Thursday in the office, Friday at home
We're recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join a well-established, international company's Procurement team, reporting directly to the Head of Procurement. You'll play a pivotal role sourcing high-quality products from suppliers worldwide, managing supplier relationships, and helping the business meet customer needs efficiently and ethically - a great opportunity for a commercially minded, driven buyer to make a real impact in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key responsibilities
• Identifying, evaluating and sourcing products that meet customer specifications, balancing price, quality and lead time
• Negotiating favourable terms with suppliers on price, payment terms and delivery schedules
• Ensuring compliance with ethical sourcing policies and maintaining high ethical and sustainability standards
• Working with the logistics team on on-time delivery, importing, customs processes and quality control
• Overseeing customer tenders and supporting Sales & Marketing with pricing, data and product insights
• Managing order administration and documentation via the order processing system
• Collaborating with the Demand Planner and Operations Director to meet stock availability and delivery targets
• Researching and engaging new suppliers to drive continuous improvement in cost, quality and delivery
• Building a strong understanding of customers' brands and requirements
Skills & experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a buying role (preferably in the food industry), with a proven track record in sourcing, negotiating and supplier management
- A 'can-do' attitude and positive approach to problem solving
- Tenacious with a strong determination to succeed
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of international shipping, duties and delivery processes is beneficial
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Strong IT skills, confident with spreadsheets
- French or Spanish beneficial but not a requirement
Remuneration package • £30,000 – £50,000, competitive, DOE
