Job Title:                                              Senior Marketing Manager

 

Reporting to:                                       Head of Development & Marketing

 

Location:                                              Minimum 2 days a week in Taunton Office with regular travel to Dorking Office  

 

Main Purpose:                                    To manage the marketing team to deliver company strategic objectives through the creation and implementation of effective marketing strategies.

 

Salary:                                                   £50-55k plus a range of benefits

Education:                                            Graduate with marketing a core degree subject

                                                                Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing

                                                                Or relevant proven experience

                                                               

Essential Experience/Skills:              Successful track record in multi-channel B2B marketing at manager level

Demonstrable track record of leading and managing a team

Creation of costed and executable brand plans

Advanced level Microsoft Office suite applications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Understanding of key business financial measures and ability to undertake complex numerical calculations.

Data analysis and presentation of findings to senior management

Salary:                 £50,000 to £55,000 per annum, dependent upon experience

Job Role:           To manage the marketing team to deliver company strategic objectives through the creation and implementation of effective marketing activities.

                                                       

Main Responsibilities

  • To contribute to developing marketing strategies to build the companies brands to increase market share across UK and Europe considering the competitive marketplace, consumer trends and the capabilities of In the business and its suppliers.
  • Manage the marketing team to create costed and executable brand plans to deliver identified strategic objectives including: - Product portfolio management, Trade and Consumer communication, Pricing and promotions and Distribution gain targets
  • Manage the marketing team to deliver all aspects of the brand plan effectively and efficiently in a timely manner. Monitor performance and take appropriate action to adjust and communicate changes, as necessary.
  • Manage the marketing budget to deliver agreed brand plans.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of consistent process and procedures to efficiently execute marketing initiatives.
  • Manage marketing team to effectively collaborate with Sales team to maximise sales through a combination of Trade marketing, B2B Ecom, Trade exhibitions, sales force training and communication, promotional programmes, and key/national account support.
  • Work with Sales to ensure product ranges and pricing are managed to maximise profitability and sales growth by creating a trade pricing strategy including Trade price list, discount strategy and promotional campaigns.
  • Manage marketing team to create an industry leading portfolio of informative consumer web sites.
  • Ensure marketing team collaborate with development team to maximise impact of the launch of New products – including launch communications strategy, digital assets and in store theatre.
  • To drive a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility by constantly refining processes, people and key performance indicators. Challenge the status quo to ensure optimum efficiency and service levels in accordance with the agreed strategic business and departmental objectives. Apply analytical skills to create a sound business argument for change and to identify trends.

Desirable Experience/Skills:              Working knowledge of pet, aquatic or garden trade

                                                    Knowledge of working in SME, ideally in a specialist/hobby market
