Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Legal Cashier to join their growing finance team in Dorking. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong legal finance experience who enjoys combining hands-on cashiering with leadership, process improvement, and operational support responsibilities.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the firm while ensuring full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and AML regulations. You’ll be involved in both operational legal cashiering duties and wider finance team oversight.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading the accounts payable function
- Managing supplier payment runs
- Overseeing day-to-day legal cashiering activities across client and office accounts
- Processing receipts, payments, transfers, and billing accurately and efficiently
- Reviewing and authorising financial transactions in line with internal controls
- Performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Supporting budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow monitoring
- Assisting with financial reporting and management information
- Ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and AML regulations
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Maintaining and improving financial controls and procedures
- Acting as a key support and escalation point for the wider finance team and fee earners
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience within a legal cashiering role
- Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive and team-focused approach
Experience supervising processes or supporting junior team members would be highly advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
- £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
