Senior Finance Officer

We have an amazing opportunity to join a fast growing company within a fun industry.  We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance officer to become a pivotal part of the business and grow and develop all areas of the company. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience and looking for a step up.

The right candidate will be used to working for an SME and happy to get involved in a variety of finance tasks.  You will need to be a pro active and enthusiastic candidate who is full of ideas and drive within the role. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Produce, in a timely manner, the Management Accounts on a monthly basis which includes prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, provisions.
  • Analysis of the monthly management accounts and provide commentary.
  • Produce and present the weekly profit and loss accounts to gross margin, providing commentary and analysis.
  • Produce the yearly budget and monthly forecasting.
  • Manage the cashflow which involves forecasting.
  • Ensure Control accounts are maintained.
  • UK VAT returns and reconciliations.
  • Supply our tax agency with information for EU tax VAT returns
  • Costs Analysis
  • Close the Accounting year to send to External Accountant.
  • Collate payroll information to send to External Accountant to process.
  • Pay suppliers on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for dealings and relationships with HMRC, banks and any other relevant parties.
  • Any adhoc projects

 

Supervise a bookkeeper who is responsible for TB:

  • Post and maintain Nominal Ledger (Sales and Purchase Ledgers) using Sage system
  • Bank reconciliations, FX revaluation, Stock Provision, Fixed Asset Register
  • Post the credit card statement
  • Post revenues and associated costs.

 

 

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

  • An experienced Finance Person with at least 5 years working in SME.
  • Strong accounting background and experience in accounting, reporting  and analysis.
  • Experience of working in a multinational business - forex
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and track through to conclusion
  • Advance excel – formulae
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 or similar Accounts package
  • Hands on approach.
  • Preferably managed staff before.
