P/T Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant

Hours: 9am to 3pm Monday - Friday

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000p.a. pro rata (plus team commission)

Our client is looking for a superb Bookkeeper with solid experience of basic bookkeeping and accounting to join a successful and thriving lettings team, serving the Mole Valley area. Based in Leatherhead, as part of a larger lettings team and working across four local offices, they are looking for a confident and highly organised numerical individual who thrives in a busy environment.

Main duties include:


  • Managing client and tenant monies and allocation of funds received
  • Bank/credit card reconciliations
  • Managing the banking facility
  • Managing rent collection
  • Maintaining cashbook spreadsheets
  • Weekly payments to all Clients/Suppliers
  • Registering/insuring Tenant deposits
  • Reconciling Tenant deposits returns
  • Preparing and sending out client statements
  • Monthly management reports
  • Managing overseas Landlord tax requirements
  • Responsible for processing and paying invoices onto the system daily/weekly
  • Receive purchase invoices and process, get approval when necessary
  • Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested by Directors and Accountants
  • Assist accountants with annual audit
  • Handling any client or tenant queries via telephone, email or face to face
  • Regular use of Excel spreadsheets

Skills required:


  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • Good concentration
