Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper
Location: Reigate, Surrey
Hours:12 hours per week (Ideally Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10am - 2pm)
Hourly Rate: £16 per hour
Our lovely client in Reigate is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to manage our client’s financial operations. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities as well as supporting the smooth running of the office.
Bookkeeper Job Duties
- Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system
- Maintain accurate ledgers, journals, and account files
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts regularly
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Prepare and send customer invoices
- Track receivables and follow up on overdue accounts
- Maintain vendor and customer records
- Process payroll or assist with payroll preparation
- Maintain employee time and attendance records
- Calculate benefits, deductions, and reimbursements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Generate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Assist with year-end closing procedures
- Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking
- Identify variances and report to management
- VAT Submissions
General Administrative Tasks
- Coordinate with external accountants or auditors
- Support office operations as needed
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in accounting or finance administration
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with cloud-based tools.
Qualifications
- AAT Level 3 or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of Quickbooks and ideally BrightPay
- Previous experience in a similar role within an SME environment is advantageous.
