We are working with our fab client based in Leatherhead on this exciting new legal role which would be a perfect first step for a law graduate (ideally) or someone seeking their next challenge in this field.
Our client is seeking a pro-active Legal Assistant to join its successful business to support the day-to-day activities of our Legal team. You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the wider legal team with administrative work
- Managing the pre-instruction and post-completion process
- Liaising with Customers to ensure they are fully supported and informed on the progress of legal transactions
- Managing incoming and outcoming engrossments
Key responsibilities:
- Liaising with internal and external clients
- Reviewing and reporting on title documents
- Submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) applications
- Submitting Land Registry applications
- Undertaking searches at Land Registry
- Attending and minuting client meetings
- Preparing documents and packs ahead of meetings
- Managing databases and filing systems
- Supporting the team and Business Operations Director with adhoc duties
Person specification:
- Able to handle confidential information with discretion and a high level of trustworthiness
- A fast and eager learner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A time manager, with a natural ability to plan and organise to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
- High degree of professionalism
- Proficient with MS Office
- Ability to deal with all levels within an organisation, both internally and externally
- A self-motivated, self-starter
- Law degree, or equivalent (desirable, but not necessary)
