Junior Buyer/Assistant Buyer
£35,000 (negotiable, DOE) + great benefits | Full-time, Office-based | Mon–Fri, 8.30am–5pm

Based in a beautiful rural setting, our client has firmly established itself as a market leader within its sector. For the right person, this is a genuine opportunity to grow with an ambitious, market-leading company.

They are growing and on the lookout for an enthusiastic Junior Buyer to join one of the sector's true front-runners — a business that moves fast, sets the pace for competitors, and backs that energy up with a genuinely collaborative, work hard / play hard culture. This is a brilliant step for someone who wants to elevate their career in buying from day one, in a busy, office-based team that won't let you stand still.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the wider buying team on products destined for retail shelves and in-store displays
  • Checking samples as they come in from production, flagging any quality issues straight back to the factory
  • Pulling together artwork and sending it through to factories ahead of sampling and production runs
  • Helping coordinate third-party testing and inspection bookings
  • Getting quotes from suppliers and keeping pricing information accurate and up to date
  • Raising and tracking purchase orders with suppliers across the UK, Europe and the Far East
  • Keeping shipping and product trackers current, so nothing slips through the cracks
  • Lending a hand on customs and delivery tracking, from port right through to warehouse
  • Double-checking artwork against ingredient lists and safety documentation before it goes out
  • Generally mucking in wherever the team needs an extra pair of hands — no two days look the same

What we're looking for:

  • Strong experience in a buying or procurement role
  • A genuine interest in building a long-term career in buying or retail
  • Comfortable with Excel and the rest of the MS Office suite
  • Naturally organised, with a sharp eye for detail
  • Experience of dealing with the Far East (definite advantage)
  • A team player who's energised rather than fazed by a fast-paced environment
  • A clear, confident communicator — you'll be talking to suppliers daily

What's in it for you: a genuinely buzzing, office-based team at a business that leads rather than follows in its market, a competitive salary and great benefits package, a true work hard, play hard culture — think regular socials and team celebrations, not just a slogan — and a collaborative environment with exposure across buying, sales and design.
