Working alongside the MD, the Procurement Manager will be part of the senior management team, liaising daily with our worldwide suppliers. They will be involved in all aspects of the purchasing process from identifying new suppliers, understanding market movements and managing order placement. 

The Procurement Manager will be experienced in buying and project management, having excellent administration and communication skills and be commercial in their approach.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sourcing products meeting customer specifications and delivering the best combination of price, lead-time and quality.
  • Utilise skills to negotiate best prices/payment terms/deals from suppliers.
  • Work in accordance with the Company’s ethical sourcing policies to ensure full compliance.
  • Assist with Quality Control and Logistics (importing, customs) and liaise with the in-house logistics team to ensure on time delivery (where applicable).
  • Manage customer tenders, keeping Sales & Marketing with relevant pricing and data.
  • Raise formal purchase orders and process all associated admin through our order processing system.
  • Ensure that a full written documentation trail is available, in accordance with company requirements.
  • Work with the Demand Planning Manager & Operations Manager ensuring that we meet our delivery/availability and stock targets.
  • Research, discuss and introduce new suppliers on a regular basis.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of customers, their brands and their requirements.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Tenacious with a strong determination to succeed
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of international shipping, duties and delivery processes would be beneficial
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills and equally confident with spreadsheets
  • A number of years’ experience in product buying.
  • French or Spanish beneficial but not a requirement
