Commercial Heating & Plumbing Engineer

Location: Reigate, Surrey (field-based across London, Surrey, Sussex, and Kent)
Salary: Circa £50,000 – £65,000
Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (1-hour paid lunch)

Role Overview

As a Commercial Heating & Plumbing Engineer, you will carry out installation, maintenance, and repair work on commercial heating and plumbing systems. You will ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with gas, water, and building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair all types of gas boilers and heating systems

• Carry out Landlord gas safety inspections

• Install boilers and heating systems as required

• Maintain and repair commercial plumbing systems

• Work to the highest professional standards and comply with all relevant regulations

• Maintain and provide necessary hand tools

• Be fully available by phone during working hours

• Adhere to company Health & Safety policies

• Keep gas industry qualifications up to date

• Maintain accurate records, including timesheets, parts orders, quotations, and tablet updates

• Communicate company services and policies effectively

• Uphold professional standards and advocate health & safety compliance

• Complete other reasonable tasks within your skillset as required

Working Specifications

• Field-based role covering London, Surrey, Sussex, and Kent

• Work schedule: 08:00 – 17:00 (1-hour paid lunch)

• Company-provided work van (for business and commuting use)

• Hand tools to be supplied by employees; power tools provided

• Travel between job sites expected; day-to-day jobs are generally close together

• Must be proficient with smartphones, apps, and web tools for job updates, plans, and records

Candidate Requirements

Essential Knowledge & Experience

• Post Gas Safe qualification: 2+ years

• Boiler servicing, breakdowns, and installations: 2+ years

• Landlord certificates

• Commercial plumbing and heating repairs

• Knowledge of relevant acts and regulations

Desirable Knowledge & Experience

• Experience in the renewables industry

• Private sector insurance work

Skills & Competencies

Essential:

• City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent

• Commercial gas qualifications

• G3 qualification
