Commercial Finance Assistant
Based: Near Guildford with hybrid working.
Must be Car Owner/driver due to location.
Salary: Dependant on Experience
Our SME Accountancy client is looking for a motivated, accounts person to join their organization. This is a great role for a recent graduate who is keen to start a career in finance and looking to work for a company who not only offers a great working environment but also long term development.
Duties will include:

- Owning Purchase Ledger duties including:
- Entering supplier invoices into Xero
- Preparing payment runs for approval and uploading to the bank for payment
- Deal with Purchase Ledger queries as appropriate

- Owning Sales Ledger duties including:
- Responsible for taking Direct Debit payments for customers
- Creating invoices for new customers
- Raising repeating invoices from new contracts
- Amending invoices for any changes
- Monitoring Quotes created by Account Managers to ensure swift billing once accepted
- Ensuring any issues with customers are raised with appropriate Account Managers
- Deal with Sales Ledger queries
- Reconciling multiple bank accounts on Xero
- Managing Accruals and Pre Payments
- Payroll preparation including staff changes & Commission calculation
- Assisting with Management Accounts at month end including:

- Monthly journals eg. accruals, cost reallocation
- Prepayment management
- Fixed Assets
- Deferred Revenue
- Helping with or creating ad hoc reports as requested by other teams
- Ad hoc help as required by finance team and rest of company
Skills/Experience
- Ideally studying or keen to study ACCA/ACA
- Numerate
- Attention to Detail
- IT Literate
- Keen and willing to learn
- Team Player
- Self motivated
